Hi every body,
just now, around 4.15pm Nigeria time I was trying to loin to my e-gold account, but I was
Unable to login to the account. insteady the following message pop up.

Access denied

The IP you are using to access the e-gold website (41.204.240.157) appears on DNS blacklist(s) as being either an open proxy or otherwise exploited. You will not be permitted to access e-gold services from this IP while the DNS blacklist record(s) remain active.

Your first order of business should be to make sure that you are computing securely. Please read and implement e-gold's Security Recommendations.

After you have resolved any security issues, you are then ready to take steps to get your IP removed from DNS blacklist(s). Please visit the following websites to begin that process.

I immediaately contacted a frind who confirmed tha he is expriencing the same problem.

This is true. I noticed it around 4pm but i thought it was just a
system malfunction. I checked back later and it is real. I called
a few people and while some can access theirs, others can't.

After analysing it, it looks like e-gold is blocking certain IPs
from accessing their account system. This applies worlwide.
If your IP happens to be on any of the 3 spam databases
they listed, you won't be able to access your account.

Looks like a good number of Nigerian ISPs are affected.
We have confirmed that Starcomms subscribers and
Glo Internet subscribers are affected.

If you are also affected, please let's know your ISP
and if not, let's know your ISps too.

Personally, I think this policy will be suicidal to the e-gold
company. If they don't change it fast, they can as well
go ahead and bury their e-gold. It will crash.

I'm a bit worried  Huh.

so e-gold has decided to show thier true colour just when Nigerians are begining to use the system then they come out with this fairy story ... if they end up blocking all IP addresses in naija then i think we should do something about itn especially if alot of people have thier money in it ... maybe going to court as a group if they refuse to give nigerians  Huh

Send email to egold people or call them ,so far since i been using them ,they have not at any time listed Nigerian as a country thats on their ban list, i dont even know if they have such lists .
am sure this would be sorted out , they might give al alternate option about how to log into ur account if u are affected by this , it can possibly be tru that egold consider all of you that are not able to log in as scammers .

E-gold usage is expanding by the day in Nigeria.  We are getting to a stage where major players in the industry especially the big exchangers like Goldnairaexchange - oga Leke them, Goldkobo and the likes to come together to straighten the industry and also function as a protective umbrella for e-gold users in this country.  Nigeria is a big economy for any business to strive with or without e-gold exchange service so we should not be pushed at all to the  wall.  We have different IPS providers and it is left to individuals to pick any provider that best service him/her.  To me, if any of the IPS compromise e-gold security standard, all e-gold users ought to be contacted by e-mail by E-gold management in the first instance instead of denying users access to their accounts.

What can we say now?

I hope you guys remember the recent request by
e-gold for you to "Please select the appropriate Country
in your Point of Contact data" information that was
placed in your e-gold account.

I suspected that the reason was to start tracking down Nigerians
because they receive lots of complains from Nigerians expecially
new e-gold users who always send irrelevant mails to e-gold.

Moreso, many new e-gold users (Nigerians) complain that their
money get stolen from their e-gold accounts.

Hence, e-gold must have traced Nigerian IPs and discover that
we use the same IPs i.e. NITEL, STARCOMMS, MULTILINKS
Glo, Reltel e.t.c.

So, we have to come up with some ways of addressing this issue
promptly. This is one of the reason why the Internet Marketers
Association of Nigeria (IMAN) is coming out strongly as a pressure
group to address such problems.

Let me assure you that IMAN will discuss this issue today during our
teleconference meeting.

So, all law abiding Nigerians should keep faith

ok, that will be a good idea. lets be optimistic, i do not see any cause for alarm yet since its only IP problem for now, i do not have any problem with all  my account because my isp provider isn't Nigeria based. it seems to me the nigerian based provider are being traced out. nevrtheless anybody should be able to access their accounts from any cafe who uses external based provider.
and of course the stake-holders are alredady acting.

Ok thanks all for the information. I can now confirm that even
multilinks is on the list.

Am planning a visit to Glo office with a coleague to intimate them
and how they will react as according to the info on the spam
database sites, only the ISP can clear the mess.

And pls Olu Joseph are you able to login or not? And what Isp
do you use.

I have also been able to login to my account with another
ISP. yes I have moved out all the funds I have in there.

For this guy thats wondering where he can move his funds to,
try graphcard. Its an option.

For those of you who are not able to login i think we should just keep faith,i just hope it doesnt happen to me the next time i login.
but i think we all are tired of this blacklisting Nigerians from important websites, what exactly did we do?
  See you later.

As for me i didnt have any problem accesing my egold account, one of my clients called to inform me of the development after i had funded his order cos he couldnt access his acount which uses a starcomms IP.
Well all things been equal as regards this issue of blocked IPS by Egold company, the Vice President of the Internet Marketers Association of Nigeria(IMAN) as already spoken on it and i want all affected egold users to calm down as this shall be discussed in our teleconference meeting holding today. So pls be calm as this will be addressed.Nigeria cant be tossed to and fro cos we are out to prove that NIgerians doing business online are real and not scammers. Thanks
