Our people can not trust internet business courses particularly those based in Nigeria because most of them are certified scams. They sell you cd that will not open on any computers. Imagine paying 15000 Naira for some google adwords courses only to be given cds that will not run on any computer. Infact if you were to participate in such courses, if they could be termed courses at all, take a laptop there and verify the cds. In most cases they will not open and at least you will not have hope of acquiring knowledge where none exist. They will never offer money back guarantees because they know they have nothing to offer. They are rip-off.
It is better you utilize your money drinking coke than going to the internet centre to contact support@their website. They will never respond ostensibly busy placing other advertisements to fool other Nigerians. Some of them get free material from the internet and package for you for 6000 Naira especially in forex currency trading.
Another hiccup is to find some highly placed Nigerians particularly publishers placing testimonials to authenticate such bogus claim possibly so that they can continue to advertise in their newspapers. Well, this is not really surprising after all we have architect in this country approving buildings which site they never visited. Try to contact those testimonees they will not answer you because they know the programmes do not work at least in the way they are being advertised. You do not even have telephone numbers or email address of these so call testimonees or are there people without email or telephone number these days. Most are bogus.
Do not be fooled by the so called clickbank statement of account. Almost everybody parade them on the internet these days. You can flaunt one yourself with a little bit of creativity.
Infact in my opinion the only benefit is the 2 bottles of coke and 2 meat pies they provide as lunch for people that have been scammed on the day of the so called training. You better take it as that might be the only returns you might ever have on your investment. It is a good scam in which EFCC can not even do anything about as you went there voluntarily with your eyes opened.
Let us join hands together in weeding out these legalized 419 who are bent on giving the genuine internet entrepreneur a bad name. If you know of any good, honest internet programme courses that are being offered in this country let us know in this forum so that we stop wasting our time and money attending courses organized by consortium of dupes.

my brother i feel you, what you are saying is not far from the truth, but if EFCC is not able to get them, i expect that by the time Internet Marketers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) gets stronger, those crooks will not have a hiding place.

i feel you too my brother, most of us have fallen to these sweet tongue people that take delight in duping fellow nigerians after the bad name we have out there. the fact that we don't deal face to face has worsen this thing. internet business is based on trust and i think the safest way to go is to alert others when you smell foul.

I've not been to one of such "scams" but here
is what I don't understand.

Don't they teach anything in such seminars?

Do they just give you CDs and tell you to go
home? Somebody please talk to me.

If na me I go collect my money before I comot
the place!

On the other hand, I believe that what a lot
of people expect when they attend seminars
is simply outrageous.

Attending seminars is just the begining.

The hardwork starts as soon as you step out of
the seminar hall.

Also, spending money has just started as well.

It's just the begining.

The prombles with some people is that they dont think before the act. they act before they think and that's where their failure come into play.
Have you ever think?
See, to me it is very easy to earn money online either you believ it or not. To me that's what i live on and i will continue to earn money online till i die.
Yes?
Internet is the only place in the world that you can wake up to his bank or ebank account and see money.Mean you, it is not free money there is nothing like free money ther is no phylantopist online that will just give you money not even is the real world.

Just listen to me, Any one can easily earn money online when you know the right think to do at the right time with the right people.

Let me explain it more, You can not earn money online untill you have a right business that will be giving you money online and we have thousand upon thausand of businesses online that a beginner can do without spending much money.
But just with a little start up capital, you can begin to make a reasonable money.

See, if you start with little you will earn little but if you start with Big money you will surely earn Big money online.
Yes, come to think of it this way, if you want to open an offline business,

How much Money do you put on it?

You can never start any business now in Nigeria without starting it with atlest N20,000.00 but to my surprise so many people came to my officem, and say Sir , i came to learn How to make Million on the internet with N5000, some time i will be wondering, Do you think internet is a place you can carry N5000 to start making million of naira ? it can't have not even in the real world we are coming from.

With N5000 , can only start N5000 business and earn a kobo on it. So how do you expact to make Magic with N5000 to becme a million naira in few days it is not possible.

But you can still start internet business with N5000 and also earn a little money which will keep you going.
The truth is that you can make money online.

While others will think that with their N100000 naira you will turn to over night riches with 3 days is not possible my friend , but you can make a reasonable money online. See if you can answer below question that means you have something a head of you.

Can you start a biz without knowing how to start it?
Can you start a business without a capital?
Can you start a biz without a good location?
Can you start a biz with having a blue knowledge about the biz?
can you start a business without learning from the expert ?
If your answer is no that means you have some thing a head of you.
That's the answe r to your answer.
The truth remain you can make money online , when you have the right business and the right people to guide  you i mena mentor who have earn really money online

To me this is what i have been doing online to end a living and i will continue to do internet business until Chris come.
It is very simply just lke counting A B C.........

When you know how to do it, but if you dont know how to do it you will spend your hard earn money the next thing you will say is that internet is place that people are using to do fraud or 419.

If you have been fraud online it menas you are greedy and such a person can not do business online because he is looking for quick money to me i dont like such people.
Go offline and  look for quick money because it not there online unless  u fraud people of their Credit card which EfCc will soon cut u

Mr Alabi,

I really feel you. What is actually wrong with people
is that they are too lazy and want things too fast with
little effort.

The first seminar I attended was a shallow one but I
got most of the internet biz basics I have today from there.

The reason was that after the seminar,I had to get materials
both free and paid for and studied them.

When I saw 3 of the guys that we both attended the seminar,
they were still complaining about what a flop the seminar was
when I had already achieved a lot.

I hope others will learn from this.

Well all what have been said so far are all true, but, most of the problem lies within ourselves because we are looking for get rich schemes. Let me tell you this, When i started years back i started small with just #6500, i didnt complain although some of the things i paid for,i do not understand.
I started making money with my email reselling some health care products i got for free from my mentor, thereafter my mentor taught me affiliate marketing for free because of my seriousness, i mail him everytime about my success online.
Ever Since there has been no looking back, i now earn a comfortable $3500 online monthly only from affiliate marketing; so about other ways i make money online? i make real money everyday.   Anyway when you see someone promising more than neccessary for the little money he's asking, BE careful.

As for seminars, i've never attended seminars that are dry because i look out for the best.

Hmmm! Some interesting issues here.
Firstly, @ dollarsforum, don't be too hard on Nigerians, even though what you said is absolutely true, we all know that Computer Literacy in Nigeria is relatively Low. For Instance, a lecture meant for some primary school pupils talking about Macro and Micro Econimics, don't you think thats outrageous? I think the problem with some seminars is that what they teach are far too technical for some Newbies (and these form the larger part of seminars attendees) to grasp. Period!

I don't have to say more on the resposibilities on the part of those attending a seminars @ akinalabi and @ goldenceo, had said it all.

Another, important thing is ZEAL. Like @wealthguide, I never attended any seminar till date.

@ Akingold2 also talk about many of them packaging free materials and selling it at high price to Nigerians, that is absolutely true Nevertheless, at time finding information on the Internet can a great deal of work. So, I would not object to it, if someone put in some effort to get some quality information and he/she asking for some reasonable price before parting with it. The only problem is that most of such people often charge too much for the quality of their information which always get their clients disppointed after aquiring such.

Well, despite all that has been said I believe more of this depends on the people themselves, when you make the wrong choice, you will get the wrong results.

I am happy that this kind of discussion came up but I would advise that  whoever wants to start an internet biz should have a very good mentor with wealth of experience.I would suggest the person join sdlc and follow what he or she is asked to do.The pioneer of sdlc has done it and he has good track record.Just check it out and you will see that God is great.

Many people are moved by sight rather than reason.

I can basically tell a scam simply by looking at an ad. And I have a list of mentors I turn to for advice or endorsment.

People need to get into Internet business for the long run. If you are moved to make money immediately, you will lack the patience for what is needed to succeed.

It is crazy when someone attends a forex trading seminar and becuase he pays like 30,000 naira, he feels he can start trading the next day.

Real Internet businesses exist amidst the hype and the garbage.

Businesses like infomation products, online mlms, forex trading, affiliate programmes, writing jobs e.t.c are basic income earners in Nigeria.

Just shine your eye. Have mentors and take time to research before you commit any money.
